A Tiger Woods Accenture Ad
Amidst all the Tiger Woods controversy, I was not sure how to reach to this Tiger Woods ad by Accenture.
Usually, when celebrities enter a phase of mad (and negative) controversy, brands that they endorse do one of two things, lie low, or drop the celeb.
Accenture have taken the high road. They’ve used the very same controversy to put out a report (really now, a report??).
Interesting, eh? I’m not sure if it’s a good or a bad thing, but it’s certainly brave.

Quite a few companies are jumping on the Tiger bandwagon (check out this advert – http://adsoftheworld.com/media/outdoor/pizza_capers_will_he_get_out_of_the_woods?size=_original) – personally I like it, I like adverts that take advantage of and react to current events. The only problem is that the advert will also date very quickly.

But it’s interesting that Accenture, who’ve obviously ‘invested’ a lot with Tiger are dealing with it face-to-face.
The Pizza company is just looking for a quick joke, and they don’t have anything to do with Woods (or do they?)
It’s true that it’ll date very soon.

These must have been prebooked, surely? I snapped this one 6 days ago: http://twitpic.com/s3y24
I can’t believe they could have got the images sorted, booked space etc that quickly?

I think it’s doable – I work in an integrated ad agency and we do this occasionally – the spots are pre-booked, the creative can be changed overnight, and Accenture are a big enough buyer, so they’ll accommodate last-minute changed

Accenture have dropped Tiger now so I think we can safely say this was not a last-minute spurt of creativity!
